Website Design Bristol: Helping Little Luxe Events Launch a Business with Big Ambitions

One of the things we enjoy most about web design in Bristol is working with people right at the beginning of their business journey. Helping turn an idea into a professional online presence is incredibly rewarding, especially when it's for a business with exciting plans for the future.

That's exactly what happened with Little Luxe Events Bath.

Emma came to us looking for a website to launch her new children's party business, providing luxury teepee sleepover parties across Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas. Although the business was just getting started, her long-term vision was much bigger, with plans to expand into weddings, bell tent hire, balloon displays and larger events as the business grows.

The website needed to reflect those ambitions whilst giving parents confidence to book their parties from day one.

A Personal Recommendation That Started It All

Emma and her partner Paddy were introduced to us through Jason Owen, a fellow member of my BNI networking group. Jason knew Paddy personally and felt confident they'd be in safe hands.

Recommendations like this mean a lot to us. Many of our clients come to us through word of mouth because they know they'll receive honest advice, ongoing support and a website that grows with their business.

Building a Flexible Future

Little Luxe Events was born during an exciting new chapter in Emma and Paddy's lives.
Both work in the police force, but after welcoming their baby, Emma wanted to create a business that offered greater flexibility while allowing her to build something she was passionate about. The business is very much a family affair, with Paddy supporting behind the scenes and daughter Izzy helping with social media and marketing.

Their focus initially was children's teepee parties, but from our very first meeting we designed the website with future expansion in mind.

Rather than creating something that would need replacing in a year's time, we built a website that can easily evolve as new services and products are added.

Looking Beyond Google

Of course, everyone wants their website to be found on Google.

But one of the conversations we had early on was about not relying solely on search engines.
Parents often discover businesses through recommendations from nurseries, playgroups, schools, soft play centres and local Facebook groups. Emma already had some fantastic local contacts, so we discussed how the website could support those recommendations by providing somewhere professional for potential customers to visit after hearing about the business.

That's often how websites generate enquiries — not necessarily through Google first, but by giving people confidence once they've heard your name elsewhere.

Designing Around Real Photography

For businesses like Little Luxe Events, photography is everything on a website.
Parents want to see exactly what they're hiring, so using authentic images was always going to be far more powerful than stock photography. Unfortunately, things didn't quite go to plan.
The teepees Emma had ordered became delayed for several weeks after getting caught up in shipping disruption caused by conflict in the Middle East. Without the equipment, there was no way to photograph the products before launch.

Rather than settling for generic images, Emma waited until the teepees finally arrived. She then hired an Airbnb to stage professional lifestyle photographs that showed exactly what customers would receive. It has to be said, the results were well worth the wait.

The website launched with a smaller collection of carefully chosen images, knowing that Lightning, our easy-to-use editor, would make adding new photography simple as the business grew.

Some light AI editing was also used to tidy backgrounds and improve existing photographs — a great example of using AI to enhance genuine photography rather than creating images that don't represent the real business.

Creating a Warm, Premium Design

Emma had a clear vision for how she wanted the website to feel. She wanted soft neutral colours, elegant typography and a welcoming design that reflected the luxury experience families would receive. As inspiration, she shared another website we'd previously designed, loving the mix of layouts, scrolling effects and premium feel.

We incorporated:
Soft neutral colour palettes
Elegant heading fonts inspired by the Little Luxe branding
Modern scrolling effects
Spacious layouts
Plenty of room for additional photography

The result is a site that feels stylish and family-friendly - and also standing out from other competitors in the children's party space.

Helping with Branding

Sometimes our work goes beyond designing websites.

Emma had originally created her logo using AI, but one of the fonts used within the tagline wasn't suitable. We arranged for the logo to be professionally redrawn, keeping the overall look she loved while ensuring everything was clean, consistent and ready for both print and digital use.
Small details like this help create a much more professional first impression.

Supporting the Content Writing

Emma wanted to write the website copy herself, which we actively encourage wherever possible.
After all, nobody understands a business better than its owner.

Rather than writing everything for her, we worked together to plan the page structure, decide what information should appear on each page and create clear headings to guide the writing process. This meant Emma's personality and passion came through while still ensuring the content remained easy for visitors to read and find the information they needed.

Professional Email Addresses

As part of the project, we also helped set up branded business email addresses.

It's a simple addition, but contacting a business from an email address that matches the company website immediately creates a more professional impression and helps build trust.

Growing Through Blogging

One area where Emma has really embraced is website blogging. She's a natural writer and quickly started producing useful articles that genuinely help parents rather than simply trying to sell. We've worked together to make those blogs even stronger by providing guidance on SEO, structure and content.
That included suggesting:
Writing blog titles as questions parents actually search for.
Focusing each article around a small number of key search phrases.
Making every blog genuinely helpful and informative first, with promotion coming second.
This approach not only improves SEO but also builds trust with prospective customers.

A Website That Grows With the Business

Like many businesses, the website has continued evolving. Following the initial design, Emma decided to create a dedicated gallery page along with separate pages for each party theme. This gives her somewhere to showcase new customer photos as bookings increase, while also helping the website target more specific search terms over time.

It's exactly how we like websites to develop — growing alongside the business rather than standing still.

Easy to Update

Once the website was complete, my colleague Pam provided full training on our editor.
She showed Emma how to make updates herself, including how banner images automatically adapt across different screen sizes.

Because the editor is so straightforward to use, Emma can continue adding galleries, updating services and publishing new blogs whenever she likes without needing technical knowledge.

The Finished Result

We're delighted with how the Little Luxe Events website has turned out, but more importantly, so is Emma. After reviewing the completed site, she was really pleased with the overall design. Since then, the business has continued to grow, with new photography, additional services and fresh content regularly being added.

It's a fantastic example of why we don't just build websites for where a business is today — we build them for real business that expand and evolve over time.
